SMART BELT SCALE (SBS) : A smart belt scale for demanding outdoor conditions
The SBS belt scale is a continuous weighing device designed for real-time measurement of input and output flows of bulk materials processed by a conveyor belt. It allows dynamic taring without the need to empty the upstream silo.
This smart solution automatically detects belt rotation, thus improving dosing efficiency due to its speed measurement wheel. At the same time this dosing system totals the accumulated total weight passed, making it possible to monitor and regulate material flows very precisely.
This belt scale is also available in a specific version for metal apron conveyors (SAS) as well as a version designed for high-speed, high-flow conveyors (LBS).

Operating principle and description of the SBS belt scale
The belt scale comprises three main components:
/ The weighing station, at the heart of the system, uses the parallelogram principle to transmit forces to the load cell.
/ The belt speed measurement device ensures accuracy using a friction wheel in constant contact with the belt surface.
/ The SBS belt scale is connected to the BFC digital controller, which is available in wall-mounted or panel-mounted versions. It is connected to the scale to process and manage weighing data. For more information, see the BFC page.
