RMS : Multi-feeder software controller

RMS : Controller and recipe management system for industrial belt feeders

The RMS or Recipe Management System is comprehensive recipe management software designed to optimise aluminium anode production workshops. The RMS combines a powerful PLC and management software for industrial belt feeders, providing centralised control and simultaneous management of multiple feeders on up to four production lines, with a dedicated display option for individual feeders.

The 21-inch touch screen offers an intuitive user interface, simplifying monitoring on complex installations. By facilitating the creation, verification, and rapid transfer of recipes to the controller, the RMS enables you to monitor all production line operations. Its recipe manager can create an infinite number of recipes and save them in its database for future use.

BENEFITS OF THE RMS PROCESS FEED RECIPE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

BACKUP SAFETY

The RMS incorporates a database backup system, so you can create recipes over and over again and save them for future use.

MULTIPLE FEEDER CONTROL

This recipe management system is capable of controlling up to 16 belt feeders on up to four production lines, which means it can adapt to a variety of plant configurations.

INTUITIVE RECIPE MANAGEMENT

The RMS provides an intuitive Human Machine Interface (HMI) for creating, checking and transferring recipes to the controller. Users can easily design customised recipes according to the specific needs of their production line.

PRECISE REAL-TIME DISPLAY

The RMS real-time visualisation tool provides a detailed understanding of the dosing process. Users can keep a close eye on every stage, enabling instant responses to variations and optimising the quality of the final product.

APPLICATIONS OF THE RMS DOSING PROCESS RECIPE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The RMS system is used for industrial dosing in continuous processes to manage belt feeders on aluminium production lines.

Aluminium production with all types of HASLER Group continuous process belt feeders:

/ The entire range of loss in weight feeders such as RB-P, RBP-AG, TVR etc.
/ All types of weigh belt feeders: : GRAVIT, GIGRAVIT…
/ Impact Flowmeter : FLOW and GRAN
/ Liquid pump

DESCRIPTION OF THE RMS DOSING PROCESS RECIPE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The RMS software has been designed to be combined with a digital controller for continuous processes. It enables you to create and check recipes made for industrial belt feeders installed on aluminium production lines. It features real-time visualisation of the dosing process on a touch screen to provide an overview of production. Its integrated alarm management system ensures security and proactive supervision, with functions including display, history and acknowledgement.

It offers the following functions:

/ Recipe management software + HSC (HASLER Smart Commander)
/ Create a recipe database
/ Check recipe calculations
/ Transfer the recipe to the HSC device
/ Control and monitor line operations

The RMS recipe management system consists of two main components :

/ The first component is an industrial PC running a Windows OS, available in two versions: flush-mounted on the cabinet or a desktop (VESA standard). It performs the functions of the recipe manager. This component allows the user to define the materials, the type of feeder used to dose each material and the recipe used by the line. A recipe is a combination of several ingredients. Data is entered using a touch screen or a mouse and keyboard. Each material is dosed by a different feeder device operating at a given set point. It integrates line functions (line set point in kg/h, t/h or %, 100% control, alarm and line control) on a lined page displaying all feeders. A specific page for each feeder and its options enables it to be controlled off-line. The recipes and all associated data are then stored in a database.

/ The second component is the HSC (HASLER Smart Commander), a Wago PLC with input/output modules. This part of the system is used to monitor and control HASLER Group industrial belt feeders.

The two components (Recipe manager and HASLER smart commander) communicate with each other via Ethernet protocols (FTP and Modbus TCP).

The Recipe Management System works as follows:

/ Windows industrial touch-screen PC: recipes are created and stored in a database using the RMS software.

/ HSC (Wago PLC) with input/output modules: once the recipe has been created and checked, the operator transfers it to the PLC, which provides the central control function for the RMS.

/ As a result, the availability rate is increased because even if the industrial PC fails, the workshop can continue to operate on the latest recipe for the time required for PC maintenance (disk change, etc.), as the HMI is limited to workshop operation.

This PLC and multi-feeder management system is compatible with SCMIII FIELD and SCMIII PANEL controllers as well as SCMII Field and SCMII Panel (older versions of the SCMIII, these controllers are no longer available for sale).
