CALIBRATION CHAINS : Dynamic precision tare function for belt feeders

It is often quite difficult to carry out material tests to check the accuracy of a belt feeder installed in a production line. HASLER Group calibration chains play a crucial role in enabling the swift and easy assessment of the precision performance of a measuring instrument.

Specifically designed to perform a dynamic tare function without having to empty the upstream silo, calibration chains are an essential accessory to guarantee the compliance of your belt feeder with applicable standards and deliver reliable, reproducible measurement results.

ADVANTAGES OF HASLER GROUP CALIBRATION CHAINS

PRECISION CONTROL

They are used to check the accuracy of belt feeders, to ensure that the equipment is operating correctly, and that the materials are weighed accurately.

OPTIMISED PRODUCTION

HASLER Group calibration chains offer a dynamic tare function without having to empty the silo first, enabling the continuous adjustment of measurement precision while reducing downtime.

EASE OF USE

These industrial belt feeder accessories are specially designed to optimise production and are built to enable quick and easy installation, with no need for prior training, materials, trucks, or truck weighbridges.

HASLER GROUP CALIBRATION CHAIN APPLICATIONS

HASLER Group calibration chains are suitable for all belt feeders, whether in continuous or batch processes, whatever the application or specific plant constraints. Some examples of where they can be used:

CEMENT AND BUILDING MATERIALS INDUSTRIES

Limestone, clay, sand, gravel

CHEMICAL INDUSTRY

Powders, granulates…

MINING INDUSTRY

Coal, minerals, metals…

FERTILISER INDUSTRY

Fertilisers, phosphates…

FOOD INDUSTRY

Powders, cereals…

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF HASLER GROUP CALIBRATION CHAINS

Description:

Calibration chains are essential equipment for any belt feeder user. HASLER Group offers two types of chain, the CLM85 series and the CLM90 series. For belts wider than 1 metre, the HASLER Group advises using a double chain, which consists of two identical chains installed in a parallel configuration to ensure the accuracy of the weighing data.

Characteristics of CLM series calibration chains: :

/ CLM85 :

Materials : Cast iron or stainless steel
Pitch: 200 mm
Length on request

/ CLM90 :

Materials : Stainless steel
Pitch: 100 mm
Length on request

Each CLM calibration chain consists of a hanging shaft and several roller segments. The distance between each roller is the “pitch”. The segment pitch is chosen according to the length of the weigh belt.

/ For a short weigh belt, choose a segment with a 100 mm pitch (CLM90 series).
/ For a long weigh belt, choose a segment with a 200 mm pitch (CLM85 Series).

Operating principle:

HASLER Group calibration chains simulate the behaviour of a material on the conveyor of a weigh belt feeder. They are fixed to a stable point and allow the belt feeder to travel at a constant speed, ensuring a steady flow. Finally, you will need to measure the quantity of material over a given period and compare it with the value totalised by the electronic controller. This calibration method is simple, fast and requires no material, truck, or truck weighbridge.

A calibration certificate can be supplied by a weights and measures organisation on request and at the time of ordering.
